Here are just some tips my boss shared with me just after she finished designing a house on an estate in Waters Edge.
Design Process
- Study the brief and ensure you understand all what's required
- Find the regulations of the estate NB
- Get the latest estate manual Study your site and draw up the site diagram (get from surveyor)
- Get the title deed although most of it will be in the estate regulation
- Get a quote of the size of the dwelling that the clients are looking for. Discuss what they like with regards to the design, what they like to do, what's important to them etc. continue to draw up sketches, look for precedent
- Brainstorm any ideas
- Draw up a bubble diagram
- Put the sketches into a working drawing
